Privacy Policy
How Autotrack handles account, billing, tracking and support data.
1. Who we are
Autotrack, VAT/NIF PT232527385, [email protected] operates Autotrack and is the controller for the processing described here. Privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the public website, the Autotrack app, admin/support interactions, billing, device activation, GPS tracking features, SIM connectivity operations and customer support.
3. Data we process
We process account identity and login data; billing, order and subscription data; tracker identifiers such as IMEI/device id/claim token; SIM identifiers such as ICCID when Cloud+SIM or FULL is used; live and historical location data; trip, stop, geofence and event data; notification preferences and push device identifiers; email/support messages; admin/operations records such as inventory, QA, shipping and RMA; security logs and technical diagnostics.
4. Why we process data
We process data to create and secure accounts, provide live tracking/history/reports/alerts/geofences/sharing, process payments and renewals, ship and activate SIMs or hardware, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations and improve the service using aggregated or consent-based analytics.
5. Lawful bases
Contract covers account, tracking, billing, subscription, shipping and support delivery. Legitimate interests cover security, abuse prevention, service reliability, fraud prevention and operational diagnostics. Consent is used for non-essential cookies/analytics/marketing where required. Legal obligation covers invoices, tax/accounting, consumer-law and regulatory obligations.
6. GPS and location data
Location data can reveal sensitive habits and routines. Customers must only activate tracking where they have a lawful right to do so. Autotrack must not be used for unlawful surveillance, stalking, harassment, tracking people without a lawful basis or tracking vehicles/assets without proper authority.
7. Sharing and transfers
Users may share tracker access with other users. Shared users may see tracker information according to the product and permissions exposed by the app. Ownership transfer and revoke flows are controlled by the account owner and/or admin processes.
8. Processors and subprocessors
Autotrack uses infrastructure and service providers for hosting, authentication/database, payments, email, SIM connectivity, maps/geocoding, analytics and support. The subprocessor register is maintained internally and can be made available on request during early launch.
9. International transfers
Where a provider processes personal data outside the EEA, Autotrack uses an applicable adequacy decision, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another transfer mechanism permitted by data-protection law. Current providers are recorded in the subprocessor register.
10. Retention
Default launch proposal: account data for the life of the account; billing/tax data for the legally required period; active location history while the subscription/account requires it; deleted/archived trackers retained only as needed for history, legal claims or customer restoration; security logs for a limited operational period; support records for the period necessary to resolve issues and defend legal claims.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent. Autotrack verifies identity before acting on sensitive location-data requests.
12. Children
Autotrack is not intended for children to create accounts. Tracking children or family members requires a lawful basis and responsibility by the account holder.
13. Security
Autotrack uses authentication, access control, service-role separation, webhook secrets, admin authorization, backups and operational monitoring. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
14. Complaints
Users may contact Autotrack first through the contact page. Users in Portugal may also contact CNPD or their local data protection authority.
