Cookie and Local Storage Policy

How Autotrack uses cookies, localStorage and similar browser technologies.

1. Scope

This policy covers cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage and similar browser technologies used by the Autotrack website and app.

2. Current implementation

Marketing uses a NEXT_LOCALE cookie for language routing. The app and marketing site use localStorage/sessionStorage for Supabase/auth session helpers, UI preferences, map settings, language, timezone, push-permission prompt state, checkout continuity and local geofence/group metadata.

3. Strictly necessary technologies

These technologies support login, security, language, checkout, UI preferences and application operation. They may be used without consent where legally allowed.

4. Analytics and optional technologies

Google Analytics is optional and should only load after consent in the EEA/UK unless disabled or replaced by a privacy-friendly configuration validated under local law. If no analytics environment variable is configured, no analytics script is loaded.

5. Consent controls

When analytics is enabled, Autotrack shows a compact consent prompt. Users can accept or reject analytics before the script loads. Essential app storage remains necessary for service operation.

6. User controls

Users can clear cookies and site data through browser/app settings. Clearing essential storage may end sessions or reset preferences.
